Pluto defender considers bid for Barney Frank's seat

Michael Burstein, a Brookline library trustee, science fiction writer and ardent supporter of Pluto's role as the ninth planet in our solar system, is setting up an exploratory committee to consider becoming an obstacle to the Kennedy Inevitability in the Fourth District, Brookline Patch reports.

Meanwhile, His Inevitableness, who knocked Boston City Councilor and Newton native Mike Ross out of the race, has moved to Brookline as he contemplates his own run.

I was also very dissapointed when Pluto got demoted from planet status. I still consider it a planet.

But further discoveries in the Kuiper belt around and since then have made me have a change of heart.

Pluto is a dwarf planet, and isn't even the largest apparently, Eris has the new title as largest.

It's all good though, as thats science in action. It's also just another example that things tend to turn out much more interesting and complex than we initially think.

For people who loathed the "demoting" of Pluto, would they be OK with 13 planets in the solar system? That's how many there should be if everything Pluto-like is included, with certainly many more to come in the future.

Could the table run for the seat or would that be too ironic?

The "has moved to Brookline" link is about Pluto. Is Pluto part of Brookline now?

Sorry about that; link is fixed now.
