Patron's oral agreement costs Theater District club one day's receipts

The Boston Licensing Board today ordered Royale on Tremont Street to close for one day because a club worker offered to let an ejected patron back in if she serviced him orally.

The board ordered the punishment even though the club manager wouldn't let the woman back in after their quickie assignation - timed at four minutes by police - in the men's room of a neighboring hotel. The employee no longer works at the club.

Royale can choose the day it shuts down or appeal the punishment to the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.

The club manager did everything he could to make sure the woman wasn't allowed back in. As long as they fired that bouncer, the club should not be punished. Maybe it's time for a "bouncer license" so that this guy's could be revoked.

But at the same time, an employer is responsible for an employee's conduct when he is on the job. If the bouncer causes injury through negligence, that is the fault of the club. I'm not sure where the line should be drawn, but he was on the clock, he did solicit sexual favors while on the premises and by making use of his position for leverage. There should be a slap on the wrist type of fine perhaps instead of a day without operations, but the club does hold some degree of liability.

Disappointing. Royal fired the employee, Royal didn't let the woman back in the club, what more could they do to prevent this situation? I haven't read any allegations that there was a failure on the part of Royate to properly train their club workers or that there was a sexual harrasment joking atmosphere that might have led the club worker to think that sort of behavior was acceptable...

A Boston police officer was arrested two weeks ago for assaulting his wife. But we didn't shut down the Boston Police Department for one day. When Chuck Turner was convicted of taking a bribe, we didn't shut down the Boston City Council for a day.

He quit on his own.

How often do we hear about people "retiring to spend more time with family", or the litany of other reasons given that are just thinly-veiled covers for terminated?

I'm not saying that happend. I don't work there, and I don't have all the information. I do think, though, that there's a chance the employee was fired and they're just trying to be delicate with all of it.

Still fucking hilarious though!

When and where ? There are no stories about a Boston Police assaulting his wife in the paper or on the Boston
Police site.
