Man against government handouts seeks government handout
By adamg on Thu, 05/17/2012 - 7:30am
Meet Curt Schilling, who yesterday asked Rhode Island to pony up some cash for his game company, because the loan guarantees they gave him weren't enough to keep the company from defaulting on a loan payment.

Not exactly fair, but ...
http://xkcd.com/1049/
I'm not big on corporate welfare
but Curt Shilling is, not once but twice for the same investment. The second time when he couldn't meet the terms of the first deal.
Whoever turned down the Curt's deal in Mass. deserves credit.
Pony up this...
three strikes and you are out, Curt. Hey, then again, as a zealous born again Christian, maybe you should try prayer?
Equity
Before RI ponies up more $$, they should require equity and that Schilling to put up more cash himself. If he so believes in his business, surely he'll be willing to re-invest, and then reap whatever the "free market" delivers.
Almost felt bad for him
Every local news station in NE was around waiting for the "walk to the car". And if that wasn't bad enough, even regional shock jock sports station sent a goon too, and it was apparent. Heard one telling him to "man up".
But them's the breaks when someone can't keep his big fat mouth shut and wants to take an active public stance on political issues. Especially when you turn out to be so hypocritical.
If you want to use your status for a soapbox, don't be surprised when stones are thrown when you tell people do as I say, not as I do. Not everyone is a born again Christian with a penchant for cognitive dissonance.
Next time stick with charity work to do you part. This story would have been a nonstory, and even generated sympathy, if Curt didn't go running his mouth about heathen MA and about his "views" on things very few people wanted to know about.
How Republican
speaks volumes in itself.
