Harvard says it might start erasing its giant nothingness in Allston in a couple of years

New memo straight from the top says construction on the Harvard science complex could resume in 2014, starting with a 500,000 to 600,000-square foot Health and Life Science Center.

Compare and contrast
Harvard buys land for development, sends in the wrecking ball immediately, and lets it sit there as construction projects languish.
MIT decades ago bought land they won't need for 150 years; meanwhile they've leased it for 99 years to a developer who's completed an award-winning, innovative mixed-use residential/hotel/retail/biotech office/lab space.
There's no alumni pride here; I went to Berklee. But I'll tell you: if I ever build a company, and I have to choose between Sloan and HBS grads for my CFO...

Ironically, in general I've found that harvard kids aren't all that smart especially when it comes to common sense or anything math or science related.
HBS Grads
Picking one to run your company is the quickest way to bankrupt it. They're good at capital extraction and keeping shareholders happy. Running a long term successful business? Well, the jury's still out but the evidence isn't promising.

some of us still believe in eternal damnation.

What does the incompetence of the planners building a science campus have to do with the quality of the recent business school grads? It's not like the business students got to vote on what to do about the Allston project.
Damn Harvard for causing that
Damn Harvard for causing that world-wide economic crisis!
Interesting question
How many Harvardites were part of the legislature that deregulated the banking industry and/or ran the major Wall Street banks when they ultimately cause the economic crisis?
I mean, we know that two of them are claiming to have the solution (liars...) to fixing the problem and are vying for the White House...so we're going to have to pick one of them to lead us out of this mess. But what percentage of the people who got us into it came from Harvard in the first place?
shhhshhhh!
Attacks against a elitist Harvard Law student doesn't work well when you hold a Law and Business degree from Harvard.
