Man objects to being asked to leave Allston bar, so he tries a brass-knuckle beatdown

Wicked Local Allston/Brighton reports on an Oct. 1 incident at the Model Cafe involving an allegedly drunk man from Whitman and a window and bar worker who got in his way.

Boy, that sure does look like the same exact incident somehow got re-reported.

On Oct. 1 at 11:43 p.m., police arrested Charles Higgins of Whitman, Mass. and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon. According to reports, police responded to a radio call for a fight at Model Cafe at 7 N. Beacon St. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a Model Cafe employee, who said he had asked Higgins to leave because he was already unsteady on his feet. Police said Higgins threatened the suspect and began punching the glass window of the bar. Reports say when the victim approached Higgins to get him to stop, Higgins began punching the victim with brass knuckles. When police arrived, they arrested Higgins and charged him with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

On May 14 at 3:10 a.m., police arrested Charles Higgins of Whitman and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, police said. According to reports, police were notified of a fight at Model Café in Allston at 7 North Beacon St. There they met with the victim, an employee of the bar, who told police he asked Higgins to leave because he was unsteady on his feet.
According to reports, Higgins told the victim that he was lucky he didn’t knock him out. Police said Higgins then began punching the glass window of the bar and, when the victim told him to stop, began punching the victim with brass knuckles. Reports say the victim refused medical attention and Higgins was placed under arrest and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
