when I clicked on the link I was expecting a dead turkey picture. I don't mean to say I am disapointed...

Turkey are notorious for a lack of self-preservation, but I've had worse luck with Canada Geese sauntering across route 128 in Waltham. Geese waddling at 0.25m/hr meets car hurling at 80m/hr.

When you're driving that fast (ahem, illegally), you get what you deserve.

Goes to the first candidate that has a concrete plan for dealing with the scourge of turkeys in our neighborhoods! This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions! Turkeys roaming, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together.....mass hysteria!

We could stop freaking out about the coyotes and let them do their job.

... and too fighty.

Our local coyotes are the scourge of housepets in the neighborhood; they've done NOTHING to deal with the gazillion vicious Canada Geese who also fight back. And at least one coyote is afraid of my neighbor's cat, who stalks it if it comes down our block -- well after the coyote ate another cat.

I saw a coyote, no bigger than a beagle, run across Morrissey Boulevard with a freshly killed Canadian goose in his mouth.

This happens a lot, actually.

The driver is lucky to walk away.

My niece was showing pictures at Thanksgiving of one of the vehicles she had to estimate a claim on (she's an insurance adjuster). A Mercedes convertible - fortunately with a leather interior - hit a bird at full freeway speed (she was betting closer to 80-85 mph, actually ...).

The bird went all the way through the windshield on the passenger side and pretty much atomized from hitting and passing through the glass. Somehow, the driver wasn't hurt, just hosed with turkey. The entire interior was sprayed with turkey goosh, too! Good thing she showed us the pics before dinner.

She wasn't even sure it could be cleaned, but got a quote from Aftermath (the people who clean up crime scenes and cars where somebody has committed suicide with a gun) and arranged for the car to be sent to the Boston area for repair - which was much cheaper than totaling out a very expensive vehicle.
