ArrestedBoston Police report arresting a Roxbury man on charges he was renting rooms in his Roxbury home to prostitutes.

Police arrested Nathan Andrews, a.k.a. Farhad Ahmed, 75, at his 131 Eustis St. home around 5:30 p.m. yesterday on a charge of allowing premises to be used for an immoral purpose. Police say he was arrested after an alleged lady of the late afternoon told an undercover officer she would charge him $100 "for a half hour that included everything" - out of which she would pay Andrews $20 for use of one of his rooms for two hours.

The woman, Shannon-Lynn Quigley, a.k.a., Cinnamon, 35, of Jamaica Plain, was also arrested, on a charge of prostitution.

Two other women and a man found inside the residence were questioned, then released.

Police add they had had the house under surveillance for awhile:

Officers familiar with this area observed several persons going in and out of the residence at all hours of the day and night. One person seen leaving 131 Eustis Street stated to officers that they were there to see "Cinnamon" and provided her telephone number.

Innocent, etc.

She also isn't one of those "has a pimp to run interference/"coordinate" with local law enforcement" prostitutes, either.

Yeah its wrong for him to rent out the rooms for an "immoral purpose" but its also immoral for us to think our senior citizen can continue to live in Boston on $15K a year. I don't know his story but I know a lot of older people who don't have enough money to eat & they ended up doing things to stay alive, such as selling their meds. It is not something they want to do but something they need to survive. Maybe we should give him probation & then some help to stay in his own house?

The politicians in DC are all trying to hide behind each other while they cut the Social Security benefits. This guy is not getting rich. I doubt he enjoys letting people he doesn't know into his home. They should just drop the charge and leave this guy alone.

They spent a hell of a lot of time and effort to smugly bust a hooker and an elderly man who were not doing anybody any harm.

How many frigging cops and their time were used for this "major bust"??? Seriously?

They could have used all this energy and time on the activities that ARE killing people in the area and busted some gang bangers financing "lifestyle" by selling drugs out of a house.

Oh - but they might have been affiliated with Occupy. That's it!

I'm sure lots of gangbangers do get arrested, but most of them are out in a few days (judgedougan, anniedoukhan, illegalsearch, $100bail or some other get out of jail free card.). This guy, on the other hand, is probably looking at a 50k bail and long stay in the slammer.

It certainly is not. Women [and men] don't go into prostitution for the hell of it. By far, most have serious substance abuse problems, in addition to mental heath issues. VERY FEW women or men would prostitute themselves to the the kind of guys who use prostitutes if they were of sound mind. It is of course a demeaning 'business'.

And no, I'm not religious or hardcore conservative. And I actually believe prostitution should be legalized. there ONLEnc

Sad. Just sad. Both of them look like they could have given John Steinbeck more story fodder. (Or Nelson Algren).

And they both look like there might be other ways for the Commonwealth to intrude on their lives, that would cost less and work better, than tossing them in jail.
