Quick! Where's the nearest disco?

Disco Man

I'm probably just imagining it, but whoever put this guy up at the BPL entrance to Copley station sure seems to be pining for the days of Donna Summer.

I like how that girl on the left is looking at the camera like "I *know* you did not just take my picture..."

Until I brought the photo up. At first I cropped her out, but she gave some scale to the mighty Disco Head.

Yeah this is Goldenstash and he's all over the place. The one at Copley is the largest I've seen though.

His full name is Chadwick Gildenstachen, but you can call him Chad.

Do you know the artist, or have you just been going around town "collecting" all those?

Goldenstash has been around Allston for years. I think I first saw him on a utility pole near the bus stop at Linden Street and Cambridge several years ago. The full-body "read more books" version appears to be the ur-Stash; it's only been within the last couple years that the head-only version has become more common, and it's only within the last couple months that I've been seeing Goldenstash in other parts of the city. Saw him in the Financial District on Saturday, for example.

One of the bands who live on Wadsworth Street in Allston have several Goldenstash variations on their van: I assume they know the guy responsible, or include him.
