Council candidate would rent out English High at night

The Jamaica Plain Gazette interviews Luis Valerio of West Roxbury, who is running against incumbent Councilor Matt O'Malley (West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain) not out of any animus toward O'Malley but because he couldn't get his kids into any of the public schools in West Roxbury. In addition to renting out English to local universities, he would build an indoor sports center at Millennium Park.

If elected, Valerio would be active in the politics of two countries. The Gazette reports: "He has served as the secretary general for the Dominican Revolutionary Party in New England."

"the fields can only be used a couple months out of the year because of New England’s weather"

Those fields get HEAVY use from April through October. Go out there on a Saturday sometime and choose which ones you want to tear up.

a former landfill and it's actual wonderful green space, complete with trails and places to put in canoes and kayaks. No thanks, don't need an indoor field. West Roxbury High has gyms and there's an ice rink down the street.
