David Bernstein interviews the East Boston teacher and small businesswoman running for an at-large seat on the City Council this year.
just great, a card carrying MTA member trying to get on the city council. BPS is already screwed up thank you very much!
the article? She talks a lot about public safety and business development. It's not just about schools. Don't write her off just because she is a teacher and belongs to the union. She probably has a much better sense of what teenagers in Boston deal with than many candidates.
If you're going to rip her and her union, at least name the right union - The Boston Teachers Union represents Boston teachers, not the MTA.
I remember when she was the president of our local civic association about 10 years ago, before marriage, kids and the business. She was an effective leader then (I think David Nyhan of the Globe did a great piece on her)and I'd definitely vote for her over some of the other candidates who have invested little of themselves in the city.
City Council Candidates Chats... Ask Candidates about how they would improve Council Communications, technology use, software use, stenographic services, Captioning on videos for hard of hearing folks, ESL English as a Second Language, stroke, concussion, cognitive difficulty, elderly, for all to have access to Boston City Council.
