where is the bike lane
Unacceptable!
Ugh, shut up.
Ugh, shut up.
I see four lanes in the picture
You're more than welcome to use any one of them.
Just don't whine to us when you get ticketed for riding your bike on a controlled-access highway.
During the DNC...
During the DNC in 2004 they shut that section of 93 in both directions because they were afraid someone would drive a truckload of explosives next to Garden and set it off. Or something like that.
While this was going on I was really hoping they'd open the closed section to pedestrians and cyclists for fun, much they way they do with Mem Drive. (A bikeload of explosives still wouldn't take out the Garden so Kerry would be safe...)
Sadly, it was not to be.
BIcycling on the Zakim - sorry we missed you last weekend!
The annual "Boston By Bike - At Night" aka the Midnight Ride, rode up onto the Zakim* last Sunday morning, around 3 am. You can see some photos here.
* technically, we weren't on the actual Zakim bridge, bur rather on the parallel bridge that you get on if you enter I-93 north from Cross Street in the North End. You'll understand what I mean when you look at the photos.
We were allowed to ride all the way north to where that bridge merges with mainline I-93, well into Charlestown.
I sent Adam this link a few days ago, but for whatever reason he didn't post it.

I'm just glad those Asian dating ads are gone
I thought Mindich might have bought this site!
Fantastic!
I love the light that the setting sun has cast on the Zakim Bridge, and the interesting tinge that it gives the picture overall! Whoever took this picture.....way to go!
