Many people enjoyed a street fair along Blue Hill Avenue yesterday; Roy Owens, however, was not one of them

Thousands flocked to Blue Hill Avenue yesterday afternoon for Circle the City, in which the street was shut for four hours to celebrate a walking, playing city.
Among them was Jed Hresko, who reports that Roy Owens, perpetual political candidate and elder of the Walthall Chapel Church of God in Christ, who was very put out that the event meant no parking for the day in front of his church and did not exaggerate in the least what that meant in the signs he put on the door of his church:

"No Parking" means that the church must close? Can someone explain further, this doesn't add up to me.

Circle the City was nice
I was there and thought the event was great...
Next year I would like to see a better outreach to the surrounding community, many people had no idea it was going on.
AND I would like to see food vendors available, many people were hungry and wanted food and along that corridor nothing was open.
It was good to get a chance to interact with so many from the community and I hope we can address the issues along Blue Hill Ave in that corridor that have gone long unaddressed: prostituion, violence, trash/litter, vacant lots, etc. etc.
I do agree however that a Sunday street closing was very impactful on churches which Blue Hill Ave has mnay storefront churches.

I had no idea what was going
I had no idea what was going on as I had to pass my turn from Quincy to go to South Bay. That was a mighty large swath of a very busy street closed off. Some of the side streets were blocked on the Warren side as well, so too bad for whomever lives there, I guess.
