Woman in car shot in Dedham near Boston line

UPDATE: Alex Jones photographed State Police entering a house on South Street in Roslindale to arrest two men inside.

The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. on the VFW Parkway southbound, just past the Boston line in the jughandle area near where the McDonald's used to be.

Brian Kerins reports the victim drove herself to the Dedham police station. Photo of her car.

Police are looking for a green, '95 Accord, possibly driven by a Mattapan man; another person in the car may be from Roslindale. Police shut South Street near Walter Street in Roslindale after the car was found there, abandoned.

Had the victim hailed from Mattapan and the suspect been from Dedham, the thread title would have mentioned suburbanites.

Would someone please enlighten me as to why we're seeing all those $50k+ cars in neighborhoods where more than half of the population is on some sort of government assistance?

Updating the post. Also, it's a '95, which I suspect doesn't go for a whole lot of money.

I mean, there is probably some demographic data from the census that would support or refute your contention.

Not that you'd have ever been bothered to actually look for it.

Slumlords living in the slums - are you really that naive? Last time I checked, they were in their posh lily-white suburbs, crying their white guilt tears while collecting their fat section 8 rent checks. Pretty sweet deal for the slumlords, by the way - $1500+ rental income per unit in places where market rate is essentially 0, since no one in their right mind would want to live there unless someone else (i.e. taxpayers) pays for their housing.

As for luxury cars, I've seen more of them parked on Geneva Ave than on a posh Back Bay street, and cars you'd see in any BHA development parking lot are on average nicer than cars parked at some blue collar apartment complex somewhere in Malden or Everett.

Saw several Boston cop cars near Fallon field and a K9 State cop at the corner of South and Walter near what was Christos.

near where the McDonald's used to be

You know you're a real Bostonian when you give directions relative to where something used to be.

Catching up my my blog reading, and hopping on this thread to add the exact same comment. I would, however, say that this condition applies to New England as a whole.
