Police say they bust up gang of middle-aged muggers across from the Garden

Boston Police report arresting four men - all between 41 and 51 - on charges they beat a homeless man and robbed him of his wallet and phone outside 180 Canal St. last night.

Police say the annuated assailants proved less than fleet of foot and more than a bit fumble fingered following the attack around 10:45 p.m.:

A description of the four male suspects was broadcast, and two officers who were performing a paid detail in the area of Causeway Street observed four individuals matching the description. While speaking to the male suspects, a detail officer observed one of the males attempting to pass a wallet off to an unknown female who had been passing by, the detail officer intervened and in doing so, the identification of the victim fell out of the wallet.

Charged with unarmed robbery: Laurence Drumgold, 51, of Malden, William Bianchino, 48, of Dorchester, Adam Sorgman, 41, of Chinatown and Gregory Brimage, 51, of the South End.

Innocent, etc.

It's blighted out there

The linked BPD page says nothing about the victim being homeless. Otherwise, mugging homeless people might send them elsewhere, leaving the neighborhood less blighted, except for middle aged guys who mug people and likely hang out all day in old men drinking bars.

You are, of course, thinking of Shawn Drumgold, who was wrongfully convicted of murder. Try Googling that instead.

That whole block needs to be cleaned. It's disgusting. Unfortunately our office is there. Open drug dealing, shoplifting at CVS, methodone clinics, trash everywhere, vomit on that same sidewalk next to CVS, the list goes on. I wonder what the developers were thinking when they hired high end real estate brokers to market their luxury no smoking condos North Station!!! There is a daily group smoking fiends nodding off on the front steps!!! Whew!!!

"MY GOD, THE JUNKIES, BASEHEADS, AND STREET URCHINS EVERYWHERE! STREETS SLATHERED WITH BODILY FLUIDS! IT MAKES THE COMBAT ZONE LOOK LIKE GREENWICH, CT! WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE TRANSPLANTS FROM BURLINGTON, VT AND THE TOURISTS FROM EUROPE!"

The neighborhood is not bad AT ALL, grow a pair. Take a trip to Camden, NJ if you want to see blight. Don't worry though, that neighborhood will soon be the sterile mall that half of the city has become soon enough.

These robbers must have felt like real jerks when calling out of their white collar jobs today given they were arrested.

Nothing on the guy who got stabbed in the head on the Orange Line for asking two fine ladies to stop rapping.

Follow the spots that pick up methodone patients and You will find more crime and drugs. It makes Me sad because I know these people are someone's pay check.
