Everett - Carol's Cafe, sunrise kitchen or Ferry street grille.

Medford - Dempseys

Wakefield - brothers deli, blue moon grill

Reading - Christopher's

Andover - shawsheen luncheonette

Tewskbury - Vic's Waffle House

Don't know how far north you were looking for.

Good question -- I was just looking for a Wi-Fi coffee shop in Malden Square -- since Abiata closed I'm not sure what the best option is.

Hm, I can't think of anything in the malden center area. If you can head over to Ball square in Somerville I'm pretty sure Soundbites has free wifi.

Another option is starbucks in Wellington square, but I don't know if you're trying to stay away from starbucks.

Not a coffee shop, but I believe Hugh O'Neills has wifi.

Omelet headquarters 57 Water St, Wakefield
It's old school mom & pop with fantastic waitstaff. Outdated decor but I love it- it makes me feel like I'm having breakfast at my grandparents :)
Anytime I have visitors & we want to go for breakfast, that's always where we head. It can be busy but it's fast moving so the wait is never execcessive

Just opened on 1A at the entrance to Target. Solid breakfast and a great diner feel.

Definitely Dempsey's in Medford. Do yourself a favor and get one of their muffins grilled. Avoid DoWop in Malden - they take the "greasy" in greasy spoon to a whole new level.

Come on, Miss M., don't be dissing the DooWop..the DooWop gives you a great omelet and cheap, too. It is quintessential Malden.

Jac's is great and the Hi-Tide on Shirley Street in Winthrop is a great classic greasy spoon. Both are a short walk from Winthrop Beach, if you want to walk off some of those breakfast carbs!

Dempsey's in Everett is awesome--right down the street from me. Spectacular grilled muffins, french toast, and nice home fries. They also carry Nutella turnovers, but I never get to try them because they fly off the shelf early. Anyone know if this and the Medford one are owned by the same people? I feel like they are, but I've never been to the Medford one, as it's not near me.

Nick's Deli in Revere--similar to Dempsey's, simple food done well.

Christopher's in Reading has really good pumpkin pancakes come Fall/Winter--only been there a few times, but it's been good every time.

If you have some time to kill and you really wanna go north of Boston, Agawam Diner in Rowley is a classic. Place has been there a million years and serves traditional diner food. Pie is also technically not a breakfast food, but you can and should get it no matter what time you are there.

Salem Diner is a good bet ... I remember it being cheap, greasy, and with pancakes the size of your head.

It had a two alarm fire start in the kitchen ventilation around 5am this morning, which spread into the roof/ceiling. I'm guessing it's going to be out of commission for a bit.

Maybe they'll level it, and build a bigger one. That place is so freakin crowded all the time.

Although, usually, when I go there, it's 2am and thus not bursting at the seams. I've never even attempted to go on a weekend morning.

both very late at night (crowded with drunk people) and early afternoon on the weekends. It does not matter, its still pretty busy. The place is just too small for the volume of business is does. I thought I would have safe going at 2pm on a Sunday to avoid the after church crowd, but it was still very busy,

We now just go to the one on Route 1 in Saugus because we got tired of waiting at the Revere one.

Maria's in Salem has excellent old-school hash and wonderful coffee. There are a lot of regulars, but the service is fast and good.
