Dog's worst friend arrested at Park Street, police say

Cardolino and dog

Christopher Cardalino of Somerville, police say, abandoned his faithful dog when officers came after him for piggybacking through a Park Street fare gate Thursday evening.

Upon approach of the officers Cardalino became nervous and when asked for some form of identification Cardalino dropped the leash for his dog and took off running. The dog, possibly abandoned and appearing confused, also ran in the direction of Cardalino. Officers caught up to Cardalino as he was fleeing through the exit gates on the Winter Street side and wrestled him to the ground.

Police say Cardalino, 30, possibly had reason to run away - he was wanted on warrants out of Somerville, Chelsea and Quincy for a variety of drug and driving-related offenses.

The dog was NOT injured during the incident and was turned over to a person the dog is familiar with.

Innocent, etc.

And his dog is well cared for and well behaved.

I'm also glad that, unlike some highly militarized but poorly trained police forces, they didn't just shoot the dog because dog.

Say what you will about the T cops, but, I don't think they would ever shoot a dog because dog.

if he was driving through a park street fare gate, it would have been a lot worse.

does "well cared for" usually include abandoning the dog in front of cops, who as you indicate, often don't have a lot of tolerance for scared and confused dogs without handlers? what a weird statement.

Poor drivers are deadly.

But you had to actually read the post to see that.

...while calling attention to yourself with stupid outfits and goon behavior.
