E-13 to hold meeting on Jamaica Pond robberies

Capt. Alfredo Andres at E-13 will discuss last week's armed holdups on the path around Jamaica Pond at a meeting Friday afternoon at the Jamaica Pond boathouse, Jamaicaway and Pond Street.

The session starts at 4:30 p.m.

Police say they are looking for two black or black, Hispanic teens, one between 5 and 5'4" and the other between 5'5" and 6".

Police say the two, one armed with a gun, the other with a knife, robbed six people in two incidents last Wednesday night and left one of their victims tied to a tree.

How stupid is it to hold a community meeting on a Friday afternoon at 4:30PM? It's like you're purposefully admitting you don't want anyone to come.

If the comments from THIS UHub article/comments section are correct.

There are people who work and 4:30 is quitting time (for a number of people according to one commenter). Maybe they can take a short lunch, get out of work 1/2 hour early and be there right at 4:30?

Seriously, you really think most people have that kind of flexibility?

They don't want anyone to come. I don't know why, it's not like they answer any questions at these things.

I love how they've stepped up patrols since it broke in the media, but the entire week before that I didn't see one cop on the Pond at night.

The horse might have escaped, but by god, that barn door is CLOSED. Nope, no problems here. Just a barn with a closed door.
