Unnecessary chaos...
See the unintended consequences of Daylight Savings Time? You start to mess with the clock, and Mother Nature gets all confused, and she takes it out on us. Damn extra hour...
We live in...
NEW ENGLAND.
Are you guys confused?
Feel free to eat your pink hats you Chowda-heads.
Nice pic though.
Go home winter...
You're drunk.
I distinctly recall
Halloween snow in 2012 (post-Sandy nor-easter), snow on October 18 in 2009, and snow on Halloweekend in 2005. It seems to be an every-few-years occurrence.
It is. There was October snow
It is. There was October snow in 2011 (and a BAD ice storm in central/western Mass). It's not an every year thing, but it's a fairly common occurance.
This was somewhat unexpected though. I thought we might possibly get some flurries, but I wasn't expecting any accumulation!
Two Post-Sandy snow events
Well, one was a part of Sandy - huge snows in behind the storm in the Appalachian ridge, including Western MA.
The second was a post-Sandy Nor'Easter - I have a pic from that on Facebook dated November 7, 2012, taken when I got home from work that day.
This isn't that unusual in the 30 years I've been around - it is always miserable, however. I remember one like this on Veterans' Day 1986.
At least this hit on a weekend, when many people don't have to commute. Much nicer when one can just fill a slowcooker with comfort food and hang out on the couch wrapped in blankets reading, watching the Pats, etc.
It snowed during Head of the Charles
in 2009.
That's not Needham! It's in
That's not Needham! It's in Dover, right next to the Charles.
