He's going the Jay Severin route of self syndication! Howie and some guy with a fax machine and a company called Global Media are starting his own network amongst the podunk stations in the all white parts of New England that broadcast his racist invective to an ever shrinking audience of geriatrics who remember when blacks knew their place. RKO, sick of Howie complaining about Entercom and Howie's constant thieving of paper towels and toilet paper, bounced his fat ass when he wouldn't allow them any control over his show.

Basically, Howie was convinced by some hustler that he's a real name in talk radio, but for some reason he still has to schlep his picture books of sociopaths to ice cream shops and liquor stores all over New England, while Mike Barnicle is playing golf with Colin Powell and Larry David.

still waiting for that call from Fox that never seems to come. He's so much more talented than O'Reilly, smarter than that doorknob Hannity. It must really suck being you Howie. Having to venture into the Wayne's World of internet nothingness. for your last grasp at wing nut fame.

Is he conservative enough for Glenn Beck? If so maybe he can go over to Glenn's network or whatever you call it when it's on the web.

As for Fox - I see that you left you the one person who my Dad would leave my Mom for after 47 years of marriage - Megyn Kelly. She's not going anywhere. Maybe he can take over the Greta slot that no one watches?

I hate Howie Carr as much as the next rational thinking person, but I must say, between your comments here and on the herald, you are clearly obsessed with Howie Carr.

Nah, I never bothered with Carr at all until the Martorano revelations were made. Especially the disgusting way he tried to rationalize it as documenting history, when all he did was financially reward a domestic terrorist for killing women and children, while delivering daily tirades against anyone on any type of public assistance or anyone not white.

The guy is journalistic version of a stripper - he'll do anything for a buck. Most people would think that he's not worth their time. I mean, look at him, he gets lipo and gets fat, gets hair trasplants, still looks bald, profits off killers and pedophiles. He's a bum. He should have been treated like Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Red Dragon a long time ago. Nobody cares. Get over it.

I have pictures of Carr adorning a secret room in my house. I know that he reads the comments and I know what I write bothers the shit out of him, so I take a few minutes of my day to harangue Boston's resident throwback and then I go about my day. All in good fun, except for the fact that too many people in this town think he's right on.

aren't reading Howie Carr. Who is? The yuppies in Southie, Charlestown, Back Bay or Beacon HIll? The liberals of JP, Roslindale and West Roxbury? The students in Allston/Brighton? Roxbury, Dorchester or Mattapan? Who? His listener/reading base is composed of morons who can't think for themselves who generally reside in outer suburbs, Worcester area, NH and Maine.

Get off your high horse, dvdoff. If what you write on the Herald comments really bothered him, it hasn't changed his tune one bit. You're not that special. You post there to inflame others who buy into his drivel. It's trolling, plain and simple.

It's a free internet and I'm free to criticize Carr until the cows come home. If you don't like what I have to say about Carr, then just gloss over when you see one of my posts. I also don't expect Howie to change his tune on my account. I mean, look at the fame and fortune his nonsense has generated for him!

And where have you ever seen me say that I'm "that special"?

I would love to see him and an 85 yr old Whitey left in a room together for 5 minutes. my money is on the old guy and im talking about Whitey. wmex should be good, everyone listens to that station. is jerry Williams coming back?

Your comments on Carr are one of the reasons why I like reading the comments on this site! (Seriously.)

Maybe if everyone says his name three times in a row he will disappear?

Pity poor WRKO. Maybe the knuckle scraping demo has finally succumbed to Scratch Ticket Dust Lung disease and can't support Howie's creative writing life any further.

But on a serious note, how will I know about EBT fraud? The horrors of immigration? The goings on of Cadillac Deval?

Also, the guy who's been filling in for him this week is terrible.

Baker will keep you informed on the horrors of EBT fraud as he quietly hands out millions in corporate welfare.

How am I supposed to know what radio station NOT to listen to now. 680 was easy. Now I may stumble upon the old fat entitled why won't he retire phony not a regular guy cause he lives in Wellesley saying the word moonbat over and over as if means something terrible Boston accented turd face accidentally when my Satellite radio is turned to the AM dial because I forget how the switches work because why else would anyone ever listen to a radio band that comes in mono and sounds like a WWII era radio frequency?

ANSWER ME DAMN IT!

"saying the word moonbat over and over as if means something"

That's the fringe, far-right way of doing things. Say something over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until it doesn't necessarily mean anything in particular, but is a stand-in for the words you'd like to use but are frowned upon in the real world.

Howie's long-time radio foil Doug Goudie, a/k/a VB, an employee of Fox 25 TV, was shown the door yesterday, just weeks after Cox Media Group took control of the station

http://www.bostonherald.com/business/media_marketing/2014/11/fox_s_vb_i_...

Will the channel's studio site across from the State House, where the departed VB was based in the morning, be the next to go ?

The jealousy here is palpable but Howie will be just fine. As a NY Times best-selling author, Radio Hall of Famer and shrewd investor, he only works these days for fun. Was he "granted a leave of absence" or did his contract, that he has long said he wouldn't renew with WRKO, expire as reported? Those who participated in or overlooked Democrat corruption in this state for decades shouldn't rest yet. Like him or loathe him, it was Carr who exposed the rampant corruption during the Dukakis and Patrick administrations, plus the hijinks of Billy Bulger, Charlie Flaherty, Tom Finneran, Sal DiMasi, Bob DeLeo and so many others in lesser federal, state and local government agencies. He deserves our thanks.

Just wanted to point out that this is always the stupidest possible response to any sort of criticism. It makes you sound like you're six.

Hell yeah I'm jealous! Howie's ability to make bank off easy plays to the lowest common denominator is amazing. Hell, if I could make that much money while adding so little to the world, I'd do it in a heart beat!

Martorano and his graveyard filled resume. Now that's something to be proud of Howard.

Carr is not as financially independent as you believe. Are you honestly going to try and sit there and tell me he's schlepping down the Cape for two hour book signings at ice cream shops for "fun"? Or that he drives all those hours to Bangor to shows slides of Whitey to old white people at his "Nights of Slime" for"fun"?

Carr's a racist and a moron, that's why he's nowhere as successful as others of his ilk who have been around half as long as Carr. All one has to do is listen to his moronic interviews with news makers where Carr struggles to keep from repeating "ya know" eight times in ten seconds and in between insipid, fawning and uninformed questions. Like last week when he and loser Scott Brown were chuckling about the now discredited Daily Caller piece trying to directly tie Jeanne Shaheen to the IRS "scandal" the day before the election. Only Carr never mentioned it when the story was discredited or the fact that even the Herald never ran the story.

There was no love lost between them, based on Carr's suit against him that Carr claimed paid for his wife's vacation house, but he went way overboard in one of his columns about Don Imus when he said that Imus wouldn't live to see his son grow up.That was nasty.

When Christopher Lydon had his morning shows on WBUR, Carr would make appearances on the air occasionally. There seemed to be an incongruous mutual admiration there.

The funniest Carr fact will always be Riddick Bowe banging his wife.

Maybe based on the fact that they were two local media guys who actually stood up to the Bulger hegemony? Lydon lost his gig on The Brattle Street Alert (WGBH news) as a result. And if you can believe Kevin Weeks, HC was actively targeted by the Winter Hill.

It's easy to forget what it was like around here, but when you have a sitting mayor of Boston (Kevin White) fearing for his life, and you're one of the few guys who actually isn't in the tank, I can see the attraction.

The irony is deep when it comes to Carr. His fans believe that anybody who can't stand the guy or his "thinking" must be jealous. The ironic aspect is, that I've always felt that Carr (whom I can't stand) is by and large motivated by jealousy. I remember one column in which he said his motivation for getting on the radio was Charles Laquidera, whom, he'd observed got all kinds of swag from record companies, could go on the air and say he felt like a clam roll, and someone would send him one, two, maybe a dozen, etc. Of course, the column went on to knock the former DJ, as one would expect, from Carr. He didn't seem to like anybody who was connected to anybody else (particularly the Irish or Italians), and who used those connections to do anything for anybody else. Sounds like jealousy to me, although, his fans believe it to be a keen sense of fair play. I've always wondered why any democrat with a friend who winds up in a "good job" is a hack, while any republican who winds up in a good job is someone to admire, and eventually vote for. How is it Charlie Baker isn't a hack?!?

People who are not mentally balanced, commenting and trying to prove Howie is scum?

Sounds like obsession! LOL!

I know, I know, it's like trying to prove that water is wet or fire is hot, but it's a hobby, and it keeps us off the streets.

Face it, if ANY local "celeb" moves on, the result is a discussion. Some will say "good riddance" and others will bemoan the loss. It isn't that amazing that people are commenting either way. However, if it's obsession to say you're happy he's going (and I am), it is also obsession to say you can't believe anybody is happy he's going. And, for the record, I don't really care if he's scum, what amazes me is the lack of consistency in his one trick writing. Again, how is it Charlie Baker isn't a hack?

Will he have to give his payola wagon car back to Herb Chambers? And will he be forced to finally reveal what actually happened the night he "hit that tree" in Burlington?

That story has always made me laugh. I mean, the guy made a career out of making fun of his chosen enemies, and their drinking, then, there was the whole Tim Murray fiasco, which he wouldn't let go of (fine, really, Murray was probably lying), BUT, to be so sanctimonious about it, so bilious about it, and then, one night, he's driving and hits a "pile of wet leaves" which makes him drive into a tree! Yah, SURE Howie...if wet leaves serve martinis I guess it was the leaves.
