At 4PM some guy was lurking in the lobby, and when I used my card to get in, he jumped the fare behind me. Not a T employee in sight. Usually a quiet safe station. Sometimes a little too quiet.

Years ago when the T first proposed the Charlie Card system they swore/promised that all stations would have "customer service" attendants at all times. Jim Brett even got legislation passed guaranteeing it (ha!). Shawmut is my station, too, and I rarely see an attendant there, or at Ashmont, or at Stony Brook. The only station where I have regularly seen attendants of any kind is at Forest Hills.

The MBTA management failing miserably and pissing off Governor Baker is a good thing. The legislature aside from Senator Brownsberger won't do jack squat about fixing the MBTA. Having the governor pissed off will at least offer the chance of a major maintenance initiative, like Governor Patrick's bridge repairs, from being pushed through as an executive priority.

The T is dead enough as it is no need to shoot it.
