Space saver in a Jamaica Plain parking lot

Manu spotted this space saver this morning in a parking lot off Heath Street near the Jackson Square T stop.

I'm confused, I thought we were in spring already.

But being a defender, here's my choice-

Come on. Were you really the one to dig that space out?

My second choice would be something about not putting the stool out until the space is completely clear. Or is it a table.

You know we might get some flurries this morning so he's just saving his space for that. You know how people are, we get an inch and the space savers come out.

Maybe someone mistakenly left that small table behind when they were loading things into their car.

Yeah, sure, not like the people of Boston have ever given us any reason to think poorly of them vis-a-vis space savers.

But as I age I find myself becoming more and more forgetful, particularly when it's cold. Sometimes I'll forget to bring the trash cans in for a week. Sometimes I'll be in the middle of moving an old set of beach chairs and accidentally leave one in the street outside my house. Sometimes I'll even get confused as to what day trash day is and I'll leave something I'm intending to dispose of in the middle of the street days before the garbage truck comes.

Thankfully, when I get home I'll notice my mistake and move the object so I can park. But old forgetful me, the next morning I'll make the same mistake again!

But as I mentioned to those on the other side of the debate, come back to me in June when there is a cone sitting on the street in front of some guy's house. Trust me, on a nice June day, there will be at least 5 instances of this somewhere in the city, and you better believe there will be no construction anywhere near the place.

He left the pile as proof that he shoveled.

Just pick it up and toss it over that fence. Problem solved.
