Give it a rest, Adam. Shit-stirring just makes you stink.

It's Adam's home, so attempting pipsqueak assaults on his choices is the epitome of uncouth even though "petr/ibb" is a gold medalist at uncouth with a few silvers for presumption.

Here's how I roll.

If Adam ended up over at Juan Cole's place making hare brained claims about daesh, then he's fair game, cause it's Juan's place... capiche? But here, he has earned his sovereignty with grace and coolness under fire when confronted by a bickering batch of growlers and howlers.

People seem eager to wallow in this kimono kerfuffle. It does numbers without being click bait. Who knows why?

Over at G+, I just toss and block pests who can't observe this basic rule whenever one rears its ugly head. And when I comment at someone elses page, there is a tacit recognition that I'm at their place.

It's a simple elegant web ethic of basic grace.

This is what makes Uhub great. Interesting stories you may not see elsewhere, and updates on stories when available.

I find it interesting; others must as well since they keep writing/talking about it.

Reported by artnet news:

https://news.artnet.com/art-world/boston-kimono-mfa-debate-rages-on-315783

The new “list of demands and charges" from the group, which calls itself Stand Against Yellow Face @ the MFA, is nearly 2,000 words in length. They group is offended by everything from the prospect that the MFA planned to curate the photos resulting from the event for its Facebook and Instagram accounts to the fact that the robe, they say, is an uchikake, not a kimono. (An uchikake is a formal variety of kimono, or outer robe, used in wedding ceremonies.)

They demand that the museum apologize not only on its website but via “multiple media outlets and on social media" and that it explain “why this event is unacceptable."

They also require that "Kimono Wednesdays" be stopped altogether; that public talks titled “Flirting with Exoticism" be renamed; and that didactic materials be edited so that “the history of art" be “properly acknowledged and framed."

The rest of the demand list is silly.

... that the protest5ers know next to nothing about kimonos. They seem to have no idea that "kimono" is a large and varied class of clothing, not a particular item of clothing.

On the other hand, the MFA letting guys try on the replica bridal cloak also seems dopey to me.
