A piece of a wall made of children's building blocks was broken, surely can we raise funds to fix this via gofundme? Hopefully lord and savior Sanders Christ will poop out a plan to prevent these terrible #tragedies from happening in the future

You seem very angry. And sad. You should chill...

Go down the a Lawn on D Street and play on the swings. A City full of infantiles and infantile ideas.

Or as H.L. Mencken put it: "Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy."

This is why we can't have nice things

You all know this is guerilla marketing by Lego owing to their educational arm is opening an office in Fort Point, right?

Hate to ruin your dreams of cuteness, but big business got you again people. You can have all the light pole knitting and covering Summer Street in grass but Fort Point is all about business now. (Sad trombone).

Knowing that fact doesn't take away from the fact that this was a cute little thing (as opposed to that giant giraffe in Somerville) right down the street from the Children's Museum that little kids and people who like tiny little things like this could enjoy - especially since they built it right into the existing structure.

You can't have nice things or harmless things.

Our basic social contract is shredded and malcontents stalk the land.

My guess is someone saw it on reddit and wanted to try it out.

I know the artist who did this and I can assure you he's got nothing to do with Lego as a company. He could sure use the money, though, so maybe your jaded post will end up with him getting some funding.

That his art brought a lot of joy to me and my daughter when we encountered it. I know that doesn't pay the rent, but hopefully knowing that a lot of people loved it will mitigate the fact that some asshole wrecked it.

Actually, that would be incorrect. I happen to know the artist and he would actually have been well-served to be sponsored by lego, something that might help him to keep food on the table other than Ramen. It's horrible when artists or designers get paid and can eat and heat their apartments and stuff, ain't it? But alas, he received nary a dime from Lego and this has nothing to do with them. Not that it wouldn't be equally cool if he'd been paid enough to eat for a few weeks for the horrible act of bringing a little joy to hundreds, probably thousands of people's lives.
