Signal woes persist, Braintree riders pissed

The T is reporting continuing signal issues on the Braintree line, meaning Red Line riders who had problems getting home last night now have problems getting to work on time.

So, Even With Absolutely No Snow, The Ⓣ Isn't "Ready For Winter"
Millions of dollars worth of track heaters and fancy snow plows are totally useless when the management has no contingency plan for how to handle routine failures.
Question for anyone affected by last night's shutdown: Did the bustitution service have any busses running express from JFK/Columbia directly to South Station and/or Park Street? Or, was every single bus following the circuitous route to stop at every station along the way?

Can't get anything right
This is the 3rd straight day this week the Red Line has been delayed. Expect the Red Line to have a bad week with the possibility of more delays into Thursday and Friday.
Time to get Charlie on the
Time to get Charlie on the MBTA and see if he still thinks fare increases and service cuts, as well as delyaing the green line and purchasing DMUs for Allston/Brighton, is the right way to go. If Charlie had to depend on the T he might be less inclined to be gutting it.
Winterization
It seems like they have the Red Line shut down between Braintree and JFK every weekend so they could "winterize" everything. Maybe they just should have focused on "fixing" everything.
Joining the chorus
They've been bustituting chunks of the braintree line on wknds for months now and were doing so sporadically over the summer as well. It's amazing that it's not even below freezing at the t is still operating at such a dysfunctional level. I always said I didn't want to have to drive to work on a daily basis, but buying a car in August and getting off the red line was one of the happiest days of my life.

The Ⓣ is so bad that people are willing to go the expense of buying, registering, insuring, and parking a car, and deal with the hellish Boston traffic, rather than ride the Ⓣ.
