Police: Two dirt bikers arrested for being menaces to everybody around them on Blue Hill Avenue

Boston Police report arresting two men after officers watched them "riding two dirt bikes at a high rate of speed, nearly hitting several pedestrians and other vehicles while weaving through lanes of traffic in the area of Seaver Street and Blue Hill Avenue" around 3:40 p.m. yesterday.

Police say Samuel Bordoy and Eddie Lara, both 21, ignored the officers even after they turned on their blue lights and sirens, but officers kept following them at a safe distance until the pair pulled into the backyard of 1 Schuyler St. in Roxbury - where police arrested them on charges of failing to stop for a police officer, negligent operation, trespassing, disorderly conduct, operating a motorcycle without a Class D license and operating without insurance. They also got a slew of traffic citations, police say.

Innocent, etc.

I saw this kind of idiocy in action last summer on Dot Ave and on Morrissey Boulevard. Weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights, intimidating other drivers.
And this just happened in MIami. I appreciate any and all efforts to crack down on this dangerous behavior.

Were the bikes impounded? Sounds like the bikes menacing Franklin Park all spring summer and fall . . .

The police article says yes, fortunately

I hope they nip this in the bud before summer.

I love it when the cops impound the dirt bikes of these dirt bags. I've already seen them tearing up Franklin Park multiple times this month and it's not even spring yet.

I am glad too. Whether or not they own the bikes or not they have to be upset at least a little that their dangerous toys are taken away. They may get more once let out of jail Monday morning, but at least that involves some effort.

Really glad to hear this. I keep seeing people riding these bikes on the sidewalk along Melnea Cass, clearly going 20 - 30 mph. Some poor person just walking up the sidewalk is likely to be seriously injured or killed if this doesn't stop.

Unlicensed, uninsured, and unregistered... They are everywhere riding freely by the police and there seems to be no real effort to stop it.

They were in North Dorchester a lot last summer, on Columbia Road and on Dot Ave., and I even saw them once weaving in and out of traffic on the SE Expressway...complete stupidity, putting drivers and themselves at risk. There was even a young wannabe group of belligerent boys around ten years old riding against the traffic on streets in Savin Hill. When these kids realize they can get away with this, I'm sure it's tempting for them to test the limits and try out other ways they can get away with things. It's bound to escalate if it isn't stopped.

Be still me heart. When kids riding bikes do things like that the end of civilization must be near.

The back lot of that house at 1 Schuyler is where Evelyn Wagler was murdered by burning to death on October 2, 1973.

You can see the house and lot on Schuyler St at :25 in this old WCVB clip: http://bostonlocaltv.org/catalog/2394_11681_3
