Where's a butter truck when you need one?

Potatoes on the highway

The Littleton Fire Department shows us what happens when a truck carrying potatoes rolls over and gets mashed against a guardrail, in this case on Rte. 2 eastbound at 495 Friday afternoon.

H/t Rick, who surmises the driver didn't keep his eyes peeled.

Too many drivers who are either lacking proper sleep, or impaired by alcohol, heroin or some other reflex-impairing substance, or distracted by some wireless device, or just plain old, straight-out shouldn't be driving.

You think the driver might have been baked. Though if he or she wasn't, the driver is probably boiling mad at the situation.

Eyed guess he got cut off by a ricer, swerved hard and blew a tuber. Fast little spuds are scary enough to take the starch out of anyone. Irish I could be sure the poor driver doesn't get sacked over this, but I won't be poutine if he does.

When you're loaded with potatas and you're headed down,
you've got to drive route 2 to get to Boston town.
When it's spring in Mass better check it over twice,
that Mohawk trail is just a ribbon of ice.
