MBTA Marathon Monday details

From the MassDOT blog:

The MBTA expects thousands of extra riders for the 2016 Boston Marathon on Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 18.

Customers are urged to take public transportation to and from the Marathon and are advised to check T-Alerts for the most up-to-date service information on the day of the race.

The MBTA will enhance service to rush-hour levels before and after the race on April 18. Pre-marathon events are also scheduled the weekend before the race, which will result in adjustments to various bus routes in and around Copley Square. On Marathon Monday, various bus routes on both the North and South sides will be detoured.

Copley Station will be closed for the entire day on April 18, 2016.

The following above-ground Green Line stations will be closed between 10 a.m. and approximately 6 p.m. on Marathon Monday: South Street, Kent Street, and St. Mary’s Street.

On Marathon Monday, the Commuter Rail will operate extra service on the Framingham/Worcester Line to support additional crowds.

Customers should also note that all MBTA parking garages will be pay-on-entry and cash-only on April 18 in order to ensure all customers exit in a timely manner. Due to heavy parking demand, some MBTA parking garages and lots may fill more quickly than normal. Customers planning to park in an MBTA garage or lot should plan accordingly. Due to congestion, bikes are not allowed on any MBTA vehicles on Patriots’ Day.

Check MBTA Events on the web for more information.

Hey Adam, for the last week or so I never know what I'm going to get when I come to this page. Sometimes it's the mobile version, sometimes it thinks I'm logged out until I click on the "log in/register" link (at which point it remembers me), and when it thinks I'm logged out, it doesn't update, and sometimes it's fine.

Firefox 45.0.1, Mac, if it matters.

Same using Chrome on both my iPhone and PC.

The problem started when I turned on a caching module, to try to reduce the load on the database, by redirecting visitors who aren't logged in to text-file versions of pages rather than to pages built out of database queries.. Obviously some issues going on here, for which I apologize. There's another way to reduce the number of database queries, through a caching mechanism called memcached, but which requires a PHP extension be added to the system, which I'll finally break down and ask the host if they can install.

Got the same - usually just logged in and it fixed itself. Nice to know the why of it.

Same, using Firefox (46.0b.10, also Mac). Half the time, even if I clicked on the comments link, comments won't load.

(Also, aww, memcached! UHub LJers, the dude who started LJ wrote memcached (for LJ, because similar issues), and I heard that's what got him hired by Google. Good times.)

The 52 isn't listed as one of the bus routes diverted on Monday. Does that mean we will be able to cross the marathon at Centre St in Newton?

The MBTA will enhance service to rush-hour levels ...

So... we'll have twice the number of disabled trains on the tracks?
