For sale: One 'fast casual' West Roxbury restaurant

A restaurant broker is advertising a "top-notch fast casual restaurant" in West Roxbury that has $900,000 worth of "brand new first rate facilities," a beer-and-wine license, a location at the end of the building it's in and 85 indoor seats and 20 patio seats:

This is an ideal location for Fast Casual or Franchise concept.

The listing does not specify the restaurant's name, but the listed features match those of the BurgerFi in the Star Market plaza on Spring Street, a "fast casual" restaurant that opened in late 2014 after extensive renovations to a failed low-fat burger place that itself opened after extensive renovations to a failed bagel place.

The BurgerFi on Comm Ave near BU has also had a "closed for renovations" sign for a number of months, but it seems unlikely to be true, as the place just opened a few years ago.

If you look in the window at the BurgerFi on Comm Ave, it looks like they could reopen in 5 minutes. That one closed just before the kids came back to school in the Fall, which of course makes no sense at all. It's weird because the Comm Ave store always seemed to be crowded too.

Probably crowded because it takes FOREEEEEEEEEEVER. So slow.

I swear that I ate at the Comm Ave BurgerFi either before or after a hockey game this season.

I was at a concert at the Paradise in the fall and it was closed. It was closed when I went to a BU game in Feb and it was closed this past Sunday.

Oddly, I am sure I ate at the West Roxbury BurgerFi after a game, then. One of those 4PM games that are going away next season.

Of course, time has starting to blur, too. As long as I didn't say I ate at Qdoba before a game last season, I should be okay.

Like I said, the place looks ready for business, so maybe they saw you coming and fired up the grill!

I lived across the street when it opened. When I finally went over to see what the fuss was about, I was not impressed with their 2" "gourmet" burgers. Good riddance IMHO

Too bad. I like their food. Should have known something was up when they stopped branding the buns.

I was seriously planning to go there for lunch today!

We arrived a bit after 8. There was staff on duty and people eating, but the door was locked. After banging on the window, someone from behind the counter either gave me the "closed" sign or threatened to kill me.

That's right, they are closing at 8 on Saturdays now. No sign. Just closing at 8.

Good luck with that.
