SpongeBob CrackPants: Two arrested on drug charges after Mattapan Square struggle, police say

Boston Police report arresting two men they say used a SpongeBob SquarePants backpack to store the cocaine they were selling out of a car in Mattapan Square yesterday afternoon.

Police say B-3 drug-unit officers were on patrol on Blue Hill Avenue when they "observed the occupants of a vehicle conducting hand-to-hand drug transactions with multiple individuals on foot," in front of 1641 Blue Hill Ave. around 1 p.m.

Police say the officers followed one of the alleged purchasers behind 1602 Blue Hill Ave., where they found him to be in possession of some crack, which he said he'd just bought from one of the guys in the car.

Officers requested assistance and returned to the vehicle to place the two occupants under arrest for distributing drugs. As officers approached the vehicle and attempted to take the passenger into custody, a violent struggled ensued during which the suspect struck one officer with the car door and kicked and punched other officers. After a lengthy struggle, officers took 21-year-old Esau M. Gorman of Boston into custody. The operator of the vehicle, 24-year-old Dorall M. Hilton of Hyde Park, was found to be in possession of a bag of crack cocaine and operating without a driver’s license.

From a backpack in the vehicle, officers seized approximately 25 medium sized bags of crack cocaine, six bags of marijuana, and over $1400.00 in US currency.

Gorman was charged with trafficking between 29 and 99 grams of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Hilton was charged with trafficking 28 to 99 grams of cocaine, conspiracy to violage drug laws, distribution of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and operating without a license.

Innocent, etc.

I wasn't really pissed until I saw the EBT Card in the larger-scale photo shown on tv news! TOTAL ABUSE of taxpayer-funded benefits still continuing as it has been from the beginning. Is that the dealer's card or one of their customer's cards??? As far as the drugs are concerned, good job BPD.

I tend to run horizontally aligned photos, because I don't like photos that scroll past a screen; my own personal mania, I guess. So I cropped it to fit, not to hide anything. In hindsight, possibly I shouldn't have.
