War of words continues on Allston footbridge

Keep Allston shitty: New graffiti thanking state for clearing away old graffiti

Not long after we reported on the graffiti battle on the Franklin Street footbridge, the state got rid of the graffiti (no doubt just a coincidence). As Rose shows us, that didn't last long.

I really look forward to this guy getting busted.

Maybe it's time to add a camera.

Kind of rhetorical question, but..

I don't hate on first sight stylized tags or even political messages but these markings just strike me as duller than dull.
May I suggest a sting operation and the perp's punishment is to be permanently painted that dull green?

After the fairest of trials, of course.

All graffiti not done on property owned by the 'artist' is vandalism.

Not by a long shot in my book.
Invalid definition, DPM

Where can I pick up a copy of your book?

It's called a dictionary. Look up "idiom."

Banksy might be an artist, but if he is using as a canvas something that is neither his nor was he given permission to use, it is vandalism.

I could spray paint "Trump 2016" or "Feel the Bern" or whatever on your front door and call it free speech (which it would be) but in the end it's vandalism.

Many people would be happy to have such "vandalism", as it can be extremely lucrative to own such a "defacement".

If you didn't know who Banksy was and didn't care for his work, you still have a wall on your property that was painted without your permission. Sounds like vandalism to me.

OK, but he's still defacing something. There's nothing stopping Banksy from drawing a giant dick on a statue. Being :famous: doesn't give you a free pass, and neither does this shit.

No, no it would not be free speech. You are not free to vandalism other persons property in the exercise of speech. All you have engaged in is vandalism.

And yes, expressing your political views on the side of someone's house is vandalism.

Set up a trap where camera confirmation of the presence of the painting miscreant results in a paint deluge that makes You Can't Do That On Television look tame.

2edgy4me. What a brain-dead boring bitch this artist bitch is.

This mastermind is taunting the authorities like a stone cold serial killer. I'm looking forward to "Stop me before I tag again" and "You'll never take me alive, MASSDOT."

We shouldn't panic. The vandal will soon give up. After all, he was told to stop, in the most convincing way, by a musician who boasted tattoos and facial hair!

Ban anyone under 30 from the neighborhood.

Will only turn Allston into the South End.

Here's the deal. When you are 45 in Allston with a mortgage and a kid, and the last great party you went to was ... Um.... Not recently, a little puke on the sidewalks keeps you young.

A good place to start with that bridge would be lights. It is so Jack the Ripper at night.

Ha- as an official OPiA (old person in Allston), that 2nd paragraph captured my feelings about this place perfectly.

Seriously though, I've long been suspect of the idea that getting rid of the kids would return A/B to a middle class family paradise. We're wedged right up against Newton and Brookline, in fact A/B looks way more like a missing chunk of those two towns than it does part of Boston. And we've got Harvard fast encroaching on the other end. Those kids and their noise and graffiti are our last best hope!

Now if they'd only lay off the late night fireworks.

Whoever did this needs to get a life.

I NEVER !

This may be our answer...

Seems like it just gives them attention they want.

Post a story about someone vandalizing some public property that had just been cleaned, no photo?
