Stuck truck in Belmont Center

Nasty Tasha came across a truck that almost made it out of the tunnel in Belmont Center, but instead wound up nice and storrowed early this afternoon.

He would have made it had he gone right through the middle of tunnel

They forced him over to the side.

The only sign is on the bridge itself: https://goo.gl/maps/o8eVAsRsRQy

Plus it's unclear -- is 10'3" the clearance at the extreme right edge of the roadway? Are trucks taller than that supposed to use the underpass as long as they stay in the middle, under the peak of the arch?

It means DO NOT COME THROUGH IF YOUR VEHICLE IS TALLER.

How hard is that to get?

than that stated on the sign. From the Federal MUTCD:

Guidance:
The actual clearance should be displayed on the Low Clearance sign to the nearest 1 inch not exceeding the actual clearance. However, in areas that experience changes in temperature causing frost action, a reduction, not exceeding 3 inches, should be used for this condition. (emphasis added)

And the situation of different clearances for an arched structure is also covered

In the case of an arch or other structure under which the clearance varies greatly, two or more signs should be used as necessary on the structure itself to give information as to the clearances over the entire roadway

Oh boy, that intersection is a major clusterfuck on a good day, good thing this didn't happen in the morning/evening.
I saw a similar truck with NY plates on Fresh Pond Parkway, he fortunately turned off onto Huron.

I've gone through that intersection literally thousands of times and now come to think of it I've never noticed a clearance height sign on either side of the bridge.

I drive a boxtruck around the area all the time. As soon as I see a bridge, I start looking for a sign. In fact, just a week ago I was late for a job because of this bridge. You see the sign, you find another way,no matter how long it takes.
