Several TV stations still have antenna problems

WGBH reports it will be at least after Thanksgiving, at the earliest, before engineers can get new parts and fix the antenna problems that have been plaguing the on-air (as opposed to cable) signals of WGBH, WGBX, WGBX, WBZ, WCVB and WSBK for weeks now.

The issues that the tower crew, engineers, and station staff are managing are extremely complex, and they are doing everything possible to resolve them as quickly and as safely as possible. We’re sincerely grateful for the continued patience and understanding of all of our viewers who have been affected by the outage.

Is "extremely complex" corporate speak for can't get parts?

Agree they're really short on details here. Digital TV antenna upgrades from years ago now have failed from being in the weather?

One thing is for sure, if the transmission line or antenna fails, that's a LOT of reflected RF. That will cause other things to fail.

We want you to sign up for Comcrap so we get a cut of what you pay them along with the "Broadcast TV Fee."

Thank God! We been moving our furniture around trying to get a better signal. Glad to know it isn't just us. Seems like whenever Modern Family is on we don't get signal.

I haven't really been effected by this and I'm a faithful WCVB watcher at 11pm. Not a blip.

And Im surprised.. OTA is flaky for me because of the Tobin Bridge. A plane lands, I lose my signal for a few moments.

But haven't noticed anything from this. WGBH's statement about only operating at 45% but still will cover most of their viewing area is correct.

Now WBTS (NBC Boston, Ch 8.1) on the other hand really needs to step up their game.

Had opposite problem Friday- was getting a constant pixel trail on Comcast's WBZ/ 4 signal- switched over to my antenna with no issues

I still get all these stations (though WBZ is little glitchy every so often...) ywt WBTS is still a no go in Cambridge. I filed an FCC complaint and got back a form response that showed they did not grasp what my complaint was at all. Followed up and received more form nonsense that was non-responsive to the issue...
