Santa and the mayor came to Adams Park in Roslindale Square today to help residents light up the neighborhood Christmas tree.

According to the City, it's an Annual Tree Lighting, not a Christmas Tree Lighting.

Never heard of that type of tree ...

This is more of an annual decoration of a tree sacrifice, however.

Trees and tree lighting and evergreens are all about the solstice - they got grafted onto Christmas thousands of years later.
