NorthEndWaterfront.com reports discussions among waterfront interests about bringing back New Year's Eve fireworks over the harbor if the organizers of First Night have concluded they can't or won't do them.

Good! Back Bay is too small to host this event on its own... celebrations should be centered in a more urban and touristy section of the city,

I'm wondering if 'lack of restaurant patrons' hit waterfront establishments since there wasn't a wave of people going to see the fireworks...

The article hit a lot of other points - FN was boring this year. The parade was a shadow of what it had been in the past. Everyone around me was like "That's it??". The bands at Copley were just OK. Curious how much what the budget was for what they did have...

When there was talk about moving the St Pat's parade out of South Boston, all the bars and package stores who contribute zippo to the parade, but make more money on that one day of the year, all whined about why the parade should stay.
