Man charged with T fare evasion arrested again for fare evasion, this time without threatening to kill T workers, police say

Galaitis

Transit Police report a man already facing charges for fare evasion, threatening T workers and punching a T cop was arrested again after being caught trying some more fare evasion at Chinatown on the Orange Line.

Xavier Galatis, 24, of Medford, went quietly after being stopped by Transit Police officers around 7:30 p.m. yesterday, police say. This is in contrast to his arrest last June at Harvard Square, where he allegedly went berserk after being caught trying not to pay his fare.

Fare evasion is normally just something you get a ticket for, but Transit Police report Galatis was taken in on warrants related to his 2016 arrest.

Innocent, etc.

If you are stopped can you tell the police your name is Donald Trump and smile when you are given the ticket with Trump's name on it.

To ensure tat doesn't happen.

I assume they do this, based on the times they have nabbed smokers at Forest Hills on outstanding warrants.

Yes. If you fail to honestly, or completely, identify yourself the ticket turns into an arrest. The liars are typically those avoiding their outstanding warrants.

Yes. You can.

I suspect this arrest had more to do with court evasion than this particular instance of fare evasion.

You can cage me, but you'll never tame this hair.

if his anger issues only pertain to assuming he can ride the T for free. Guesses?

People actually face charges for fare evasion? I get on the T at Field's Corner, and half the people just go through the gate without paying. The buzzers are constantly going off, and nobody does a thing. So Xavier, try getting on at Field's Corner next time. The T employees there don't care!
