We use Frickin' and Friggin' as adjectives, but I've never heard anyone put it together with wicked. It's used instead of wicked.

No one who claims to be a good Bostonian would say "that was wicked", with or without the frickin before it. Nor would they use both consecutively. Wicked is merely an intensifier that is interchangeable with very, not an adjective. And saying "wicked frickin" or vice versa is just redundant

This is hardly a Boston word...we use it in Vermont and I hear ppl from everywhere use it all the time. And yeah, "wicked" and "frickin" are never used together.

Hello, my name is Jun. I am an undergraduate student at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea. And my major is English. If this mail bothers you, I apologize you in advance.I'm now doing research on regional dialects and ethnic make-ups in America; I chose to study the dialect of Boston. Here in Korea, it's quite hard to collect enough data regarding the subject. So, I decided to contact organizations/institutions in America. If you are willing to share just a little time in my study, it sure will broaden my and my class' knowledge about Boston. Actually, we are thinking of going to the region during next break. The study mainly deals with....1. Statistics of Ethnic Populations (1650, 1780, 1870, 1930, 1980, 2000)2. How those living in the region refer to their own city's ethnic make-up.3. local words, idioms, phrases, language habitsSo, if you don't mind, would you kindly tell me any of the followings...a. the ways to get informations on 1. (couldn't find detailed info at all before 1980)b. any ethnic makeup, discord or problem you have seen in the region.c. any local words, idioms, phrases, language habits that you know ofSorry once again to bother you with this e-mail. I really appreciate your answer ahead if you respond. Thank you very much for your trouble. Good day!My e-mail address is-> [email protected].S. Your ideas would contribute to making the book that my class and I will make after this study.

I dont think people on West Coast say Frickin too much. Some there in CA may confuse it with another word that is also said when convenient to avoid work and attack customers who cant find out information about orders without 50 frickin calls and drama from the depths of ineptitude.I think we in US are all a bunch of lazy jerks who feel we are entitled to be lazy frickin jerks. It aint right. We use to work hard but now we think we deserve to be rich for nothing and that our rights mean that we all frickin do what we want regardless of what is needed to do a good job, and to hell with what is right as long as it frickin doesnt make me work any harder. Heck we are free remember, and that means we are entitled to be jerks.... It aint frickin right. Our frickin mentality is so wrong in US. Where are the good ole hard nose American get it frickin done people anymore? Oh its all too frickin hard and I guess we all are entitled to be frickin half ass. They are fighting in Iraq, while many sit around here and frickin complain about sending faxes because of so much pressure and busy work.Makes me sick. Cant we all just be frickin gracious and do simple things to get it done without a big drama when the baby wants a lolly pop instead of a nap for crying frickin out loud........Proud American of Yesteryear.

I'm from Los Angeles and I say 'frickin' all the time. Its a polite company way of saying 'fucking' and people know exactly what I mean when I say it.'Wicked' I associate with surfer boys, as in 'wicked cool' or 'dude, that chick was wicked hot'. I never thought of it as particularly Bostonian.Maybe both words originated there, but I think they've become multi-regional by now.

Yeah, I'm from New Hampshire, all you mass holes...love it.Anyway, you would never end a sentence with wicked. It is used the same way "mad" is in NYC. "That was wicked cool." "What a wicked pissah." Never EVER, "that concert was wicked." but almost never used in the same friggin and wicked are interchangable sentence. now that we have THAT cleared up, this site is hilarious. LOVE IT.

I am from Boston, I spent several summers basically falling into the western edge of the frickin Big Dig itself, and everyone friggin used the language this way, it was frickin wicked funny, or sad, or something that makes us feel like we died a little inside. And I should clarify that I have never left Minnesota. OK, yes I spent a couple of summers in the orient and went to Siberia and Poland all that ancient history. But I once heard this guy called Tim Kennedy or Tom or something, anyway he was this frickin state senator from Massachusetts and he was wicked smart, like the guy who got the phone number of a chick and he's all, "how do you like them apples!@!!1" And he never once used wicked or frickin (the senator didn't, the math genius probably did all the time or whatever) but they DID say it a bunch of times on those post-Mrs-Luebner Red Sox SNL skits so that should seal the deal for all of you doubters out there. And, hey did you notice that I am like the second human soul to add my 2cents in the last year and a half? This is revival time. This erudite contribution will pull the whole article out of the composter. You are so so welcome, it is my humble pleasure.

i was born in boston, but i've lived in holyoke for most of my life. frickin' is something that people just seemed to stop saying once they hit high school-age (-ish,) and was NEVER something used in conjunction with wicked. wicked fuckin', yes, definitely; wicked, yes, all the time; but never wicked frickin'.

No one says something was wicked, thats just stupid and incorrect Boston grammar. Wicked has to modify something (like "wicked nice"). If you use it as an adjective
By itself, you're obviously a toonie
