This is the kind of snowstorm we can deal with

Snow at Paul's Bridge on the Hyde Park/Milton line

Mark Smith watched the snow come down on Paul's Bridge and the Neponset River at the Hyde Park/Milton line this afternoon.

Ben Franklin outside Old City Hall was looking good in the snow as well:

Now brace yourself. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous-weather outlook:

A major storm will likely develop and intensify off the mid Atlantic coast early Tuesday and may bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding to much of southern New England Tuesday into Tuesday night. Although this has the potential to be a very potent storm, the severity of impact on southern New England will depend upon the eventual track, which remains uncertain at this time.

And that's why the French Toast Alert is currently at Yellow/Elevated.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro (English pronunciation: /kiˌɑːrəˈskjʊəroʊ/; Italian: [ˌkjaroˈskuːro] (light-dark)) is an oil painting technique, developed during the Renaissance, that uses strong tonal contrasts between light and dark to model three-dimensional forms, often to dramatic effect.[1]

Anyone know where that came from? I thought we were done at 3pm or so?

Beware Bombogenesis.

We need a separate rosy forecast for those who cry "fake news" whenever reality is reported.

On the 11 o'clock news, Wankum's radar maps kept showing this long, narrow line of clouds/squalls that started in Vermont and ended over the Cape. He said it was the result of the cold front moving in.
