Dirt biker fleeing cops on foot stops long enough to wave his junk in their direction

Boston Police report they started their annual crackdown on dirt bikers and ATV riders on March 30, seizing three off-road vehicles.

Police say they were spurred to action by renewed complaints from residents, in particular in Roxbury, Mattapan and Dorchester, about careening off roaders going on road and stunting through traffic. Police cited one incident in particular, involving some 20 riders in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway:

After riding wheelies, failing to obey traffic signals, weaving between traffic, and operating on sidewalks near pedestrians, one of these individuals abandoned his dirt bike, fled from police, and while doing so, pulled down his pants and underwear to expose himself to police and nearby members of the public. Although this individual made good his escape, officers towed the unregistered, uninsured, abandoned dirt bike.

These dirt bikers sound a lot like bicylists.

are the big differences, I suspect.

The sh*thead factor is what the dirtballs have in common...with SOME cyclists.

Make that the self-absorbed, pure sh*thead factor.

I'll substitute driving on the sidewalk with parking in marked bicycle lanes.

Or parking on sidewalks.

Anyone who compares the dirt bike/Bike Life crowd to either bicycling scofflaws or rude drivers has obviously never seen them in action.

Motor vehicle drivers break the law and you blame cyclists. Classic.

Have you ever seen these riders on dirt bikes and quads? They take up two lanes of traffic, go the wrong way down roads without lights, run red lights, and endanger pedestrians and drivers of cars. The noise is unbearable and they are constantly violating traffic laws and putting other people and their own lives in danger. It is NOTHING like a cyclist.

Why do you hate people on bikes?

While there are cyclists that certainly break the rules on bikes, there are others that do not. There are also drivers of cars that break the rules, right? Have you ever gone over the speed limit? Rolled through a stop sign? Texted while driving? Turned right on red when you shouldn't have? Quit blaming these issues on all cyclists, just like I won't make blanket assumptions about all drivers of cars in Boston when there's a car accident.

Follow up: the court system refused to take any of the arrests or citations seriously, just like they treat all other crimes. Slaps on the wrist were handed out.

How big was his wheelie?

Maybe he thought it was a dick bike?

at a streaker who had just crossed the stage at the 1974 Oscars, "Isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"

Not just David Niven, how about the cameraman, who managed to deftly photograph said streaker just enough that the tv audience could see a naked runner, but avoid photographing the offending 'shortcomings"? Couldn't have happened better if they'd rehearsed it.....

The occurrence while fleeing would seem to contraindicate frontal nudity, while the so-called act of "mooning" is widely recognized as a taunting insult.

On the other hand, presenting a penis to a group of people... well, that can mean many different things depending on the circumstances, the people involved, and the status of the penis being presented.

community should promote a dirt bike race in the Seaport district.

I'm just back from my usual Sunday night run. I almost got run down by one of these dirtbikers. To be fair, I was crossing the street. On the other hand, I was in a crosswalk, and the dirtbiker had a stop sign, and to almost hit me he had to almost get hit by a car, since his stop sign was on the other side of the intersection. Oh, and he had no lights.

Darwin has to start winning.

I'd like to see the police do something about the dirt bikers in Franklin Park. They show up after 5 when the Park Rangers are done for the day.
As for those on the street, if they were required to install mufflers, that would make a big difference. Motor vehicles and noisy motorcycles are still the biggest problem on our streets.
