Chuck Turner stands by Wilkerson

Boston Daily gets ahold of Councilor Turner, who tells the media to look up what Jesus said about juries or something and leave poor Wilkerson alone, judge not and all that. He also says he wouldn't support Sonia Chang-Diaz because she lives in a white neighborhood:

She's not part of our district.

Now what about Rep. Byron "Z" Rushing?

Silly question for the councilor... so what district does she live in then? Seems to me like she is a resident of that district otherwise she wouldnt be running?

You know, the one that contains his turf and a whole bunch of other people he doesn't like?

He'd like neighborhood senate districts, just because that would be fair - except it wouldn't be, given that the state only has 40 of them! Yeah. Get rid of all those other people that he doesn't agree with who get tired of the circus and outvote his base.

Never mind that just about every senator has to bridge diverse districts - like Somerville-based Senator Jehlen sending canvassers to Winchester. If you aren't willing to represent the entire senate district, don't run!

Hey I fully understand that wish, and thats why we have State Reps and State Senators. It is very hard to get a State Senate seat to fully confirm to a hardline community based standard. Chuck Turner is just going to have to accept that his community isnt controlling that seat anymore, and people are going to have to campaign in other parts of the district from now on if they want to win. Im willing to listen to his solution for what communities Roxbury should be paired with rather then who they are with now. If he can come up with a better plan Im more then willing to listen... I have a feeling he just wants the State Senator to always be from his neighberhood and that anyone who happens to be paired with them should just accept that and deal with it. Thats the sentiment that got them into this situation in the first place.

...of office.

Hey, Chuck, while we're quoting fairy tales at each other, Cinderella once said, "If the shoe fits...". Wilkerson is guilty. She's wearing her shoe along with its attached ankle weight. Your shoes appear to be size 23, wear them proud, you clown.

I'll never forget the time Chuckie showed stills from a porn movie with uniformed actors as "proof" that US soldiers were raping Iraqis wholesale.

What a buffoon. One can only hope that Wilkerson will give him up as a co-conspirator, along with some crooked developers and saloonkeepers. It's already suspicious that Wilkerson was released without having to post bail - maybe she's already cooperating. And Columbus Center and its state incentives, air rights and zoning variances stank long before yesterday.

I'm gonna buy some popcorn and watch this - we've needed something to replace the Zip and Whitey Show.

Yeah, he took pictures from his pal Sadiki Kambon's porn collection and the two race hustlers talked the Globe into printing them on page 2.

Everything I've read, such as this WBZ report, says she posted $50,000 bail.

So it's not like she'll lose her house if she runs away (which she won't, it's not in her makeup).

First, "unsecured bond" or "personal recognizance bond" of thousands of dollars always seems to be a smokescreen when the judge or prosecutor wants to make themselves look tough.

Second, unless Wilkerson has cut a deal, she has to consider that the federal sentencing guidelines are very tough and that she is looking at years in a federal minimum security pen.

She has no place to go and probably no means to live elsewhere though.

Meanwhile Ted Stevens is a convicted felon, is a free man, and will be voting for himself in November.

Justice!

This is something I've never understood. Fortunately I've never had a personal need for either one. Can someone else help explain this?

Sometimes its hard to be a councilor
Spending all your time fightin' The Man
You'll have bad times
While she'll have good times
Shoving cash in her bra with her hands

But if you love her you'll forgive her
Even though she's lost to Chang-Diaz
Oh if you love her
Then be proud of her
Remember she's just a senator

Stand by Dianne
Give her an excuse to cling to
And more reasons to fling poo
When Feds are video taping

Stand by Dianne
Tell the world that you'll vote for her
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by Dianne!

With no apologies whatsoever to Tammy Wynette, as she is dead.

In an editorial in Thursday's paper (scroll down):

... The Bay State Banner has always endorsed Wilkerson's achievements, even though her administrative irregularities were troubling. She failed to file tax returns for several years and she violated state campaign finance laws on multiple occasions. The Banner viewed these charges as unfortunate blemishes on an otherwise productive career.

But now, Wilkerson has been arrested by the FBI and Boston police, and stands charged with the felony of extorting payment from constituents for official services. The photographic evidence in support of these charges is compelling; investigators also claim to have audio and video recordings of Wilkerson's misdeeds. It is evident that Wilkerson has breached the public trust. Consequently, the Banner can no longer support Wilkerson for public office.
