South Boston bar found not at fault for pepper-spray cloud that enveloped its entryway

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday found Croke Park did nothing wrong in the way it handled an incident early on July 5 in which several women were coated with pepper spray.

Police were unable to determine who had unleashed at least one canister of the noxious spray and the board did not buy one woman's argument that a bar employee was the one to spray the women. Owner Danny Kelly said one of the women was the one who pulled out a canister and suggested she inadvertently sprayed herself and the other women because of the way the bar's air conditioning works in the entryway.
