The ultimate oops moment

Ron Perry contemplated the statue in the Boston Athenaeum that shows Adam and Eve realizing they've just blown it. The statue overlooks the Granary Burying Ground.

She's face-palming
at his fig-leaf Speedo.
Belly buttons
She's saying "WE WERE LIED TO!"
Perhaps it was the discovery that they were placental mammals just like their children, and not creations of Capricious Angry Drunk Father God that led to their expulsion from the Garden of Eden?
In a nutshell the Adam and Eve account....
can be summed up like this:
They chose to ignore the clear and simple direction from someone who had provided them with everything, (life, a home, abundant food, purposeful work, and a wonderful everlasting future), to listen to someone else who told them something different, had done absolutely nothing for them and made empty promises to them.
They chose poorly.
Quite the metaphor
Definitely a current situation parallel.
He's saying "BUT HER EMAILS".
BUT EVE'S EMAILS!!!!!11!!!!
BUT EVE'S EMAILS!!!!!11!!!!!11!!!!!1!
That's what
slavemasters always say. "I gave you everything, and all I ask in return is your unquestioning obedience." To hell with that.
Odd
Why does Adam have a belly button?
Easy
Because he was modeled after God's own image.
Now the question that should keep you up at night is: Why does God have a bellybutton?!
Duh
Because he was born from Mary.
Mind:
Blown
Sculptor error
The real Adam and Eve did not have bellybuttons. When they snuck into heaven and St. Peter asked Sherlock Holmes to find them, first thing Sherlock said was, "Everybody take off your shirt."
