Or, you can go to Amazon, place an order and have it delivered to a church or other charitable organization that can accept such deliveries .

Amazon should take a cue and create a page with the most requested supplies to make it even easier.

Unfortunately the ARC amazon wish list only has 5 items. Seems like a missed opportunity

I agree with the previous poster. Not to be a downer, but it's extremely inefficient to donate physical items up here (especially since they're specifically asking for new items--not gently worn), which then have to shipped all the way to Texas. Sure it's better than nothing, but it's far more beneficial to donate goods & money to organizations that are already in Texas...right?

When things are in short supply, they have to be shipped in from somewhere. You can't buy diapers in Houston right now, and couldn't if they made them there. They have to come from somewhere.

For example, there was a collection of dust respirators and other unusual but critical things after 9/11. Not only was there sudden extreme demand, these were not things that could be just pulled from inventory (beyond those that already had). I rode shotgun with a list of donor companies and we drove a truck from site to site collecting them, then down to NYC.

Theres been some questions about the red cross.. instead i gave to the san antonio food bank, who was featured on CBS news last night. They are the main funnel for food donations going to Houston (the houston food bank is not accessible at the moment). I gave to them directly.. https://safoodbank.org/

If you go to the City website,
https://www.boston.gov/news/help-houston-drive-aid-those-affected-hurric...
you will see a link at the bottom to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation,
https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief.
The City is coordinating a relief drive. This can make it easier for people to donate too.
Whichever way you prefer, please donate to help the people of Texas get through this.

Send along some personal care products: pads, tampons, adult diapers, etc.

Those will be needed, and no one ever thinks to donate them, so your donation will have more impact.
