Jose on the way?

When last we heard from Hurricane Jose, it was just some stupid fish storm churning endlessly in a circle and weatherpeople felt free to insult it.But now (and thanks a lot, Eric Fisher), the National Hurricane Center is advising us to shut up for a second and pay attention:

Jose could produce other direct impacts [besides high waves and rip currents] next week along portions of the east coast of the United States from North Carolina northward to New England, but it is too soon to determine what those impacts might be or where they could occur. Interests along U.S. east coast from North Carolina northward to New England should monitor the progress of Jose during the next several days.

Now, even if it intensifies, the hurricane experts say, it won't be an Irma. And to get here, it'd have to pass over some relatively cool water, and hurricanes just hate cool water, but we're all interests now and so we need to monitor things as the cone of probability gets closer to New England.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised the spaghetti model is too thin. At least it wasn't angel hair.
