Lynn man charged with threatening T bus driver with a gun in Revere

Transit Police report arresting a man they say displayed a gun to a bus driver and threatened to kill him and a fellow passenger he'd been bothering.
According to police, the driver of a 426 bus noticed Ricker threatening the woman around 7:50 p.m., called police and then pulled his bus over to await their arrival on Squire Road in Revere, near the Showcase Cinemas.
When the bus came to a complete stop the offending male stood up from his seat pulled his shirt up and displayed a firearm. As he did so he threatened to kill the MBTA bus operator as well as the female passenger. The offending male then exited the bus and fled in the direction of the movie cinema.
Officers arrived in time to arrest Hakeem Ricker, 20, and find the gun police say he tried to ditch. He was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Wow this could have been a disaster
What a great job all around, the bus driver is a hero and the quick response by the Transit Police resulted in the arrest of this dangerous person. The video of this incident should be released immediately so the public and the powers that be would have a better understanding of the dangers of being a bus driver for the MBTA.

The bus driver should also be commended for noticing the woman being threatened, and taking action to radio for assistance. It's possible they prevented a much more horrible crime from taking place.
People don't appreciate all the good work done behind the scenes, because you typically only hear about something going wrong. The reality is, you are safer riding on the Ⓣ than walking on the street, thanks to the MBTA Transit Police.
