West Roxbury man charged with Dorchester gunfire

Boston Police report arresting Kyriece Wrice-Roulhac, 19, on gun charges after the BPD Shotspotter system reported gunfire outside 33 Kingsdale St. around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say Wrice-Roulhac did not go willingly when police arrived on scene and noticed an idling car with somebody bending over inside:

Due to the nature of the call, officers believed the individual may be reaching for a weapon or may be injured inside the car. Officers made attempts to contact the individual by knocking on the window but received no response. Fearing for their safety and the safety of a potential victim inside the car, the officers then attempted to open the door of the vehicle. The individual inside responded by pulling the door closed. Officers struggled momentarily to open the door but were finally able to wrestle the door open and remove the occupant from the vehicle. Upon doing so officers observed one spent shell casing and one live round on the floor of the vehicle. A K-9 was summoned to the scene, and as a result, a loaded black semi-automatic firearm with obliterated serial number was recovered from the vehicle.

He was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition (two counts), unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, police say,

Innocent, etc.

Homeless North Oconee running back earns college grant

Three years ago Wrice moved from Boston to Athens to live with his sister, fleeing the so-called wrong crowd that he was finding himself running around with.

He also wanted a chance to play the sport that he loved.

Everything was going well for two years, but last summer his life’s path took an unexpected turn.

Living with his sister — the only family member he had south of Boston — and attending Clarke Central High School during his 10th- and 11th-grade years, Wrice was ready to compete for playing time with the Gladiators before his sister lost her job.

He tried to help out where he could. He’d take a part-time job washing cars or doing anything he could to make a little money, but it wasn’t enough to make ends meet and she was forced to move.

The move left Wrice looking for answers.

A move back to Boston wasn’t an option, though he did go back to visit family shortly after. He had made friends in the Athens community through high school and from working out with kids from schools around the area.
