Forbes didn't get the Donnie Wahlberg memo

Caught in Southie noticed that Forbes is the latest non-local media outlet to get the stupid idea that people who live east of the Expressway are "southies," in an article about this show called SMILF, which is about a Southie mother whom you'd, well, you know:
So far, the most eye-popping and eviscerating episode is "Half a Sheet Cake & A Blue-Raspberry Slushie," in which our southie meets a man through Craigslist and takes his money to eat popcorn with him.
Forbes, meet Donnie Wahlberg.

"Southie" will mean whatever they say it means.
Having seen the changes and developments, personally witnessed painful displacements of the residents of the 'Old Southie' I'm resigned to admit that we must suck it up and recognize that the flood of new residents will not have real connection to tradition. However, they will start referring to each other the way the popular culture dictates. "Hey! I'm a Southie too!"
