clicky, from UHub in August, also mentioning a thread on Chowhound.

All in all, pretty lame. There is quite a bit of open commercial space in JP at the moment thanks to the Big Three JP landlords being greedy, but I suppose they think they can pull it off, and Cafe D's space is already equipped...

Dude Whose Properties Mysteriously Keep Burning Down wants to redo the place he's left burned out for a couple of years. If he ever gets the zoning bypasses approved, that will open up even more commercial space.

Speaking of which, if the dude's properties keep burning down, you'd think he would have the brains to understand one of the reasons a the city has a building code which mandates a certain amount of space between buildings!

I find it really disappointing that the money spent in my "community" ends up mostly going into the pockets of one of three commercial real estate landlords in JP...

Oh my goodness, that was only August. You'd think I'd remember something I posted back then.

Yeah, I hope they build that zoning bypass so my commute gets shorter through JP to Dover. Just look at all the vacant stores and burnt out buildings -- all those boarded up churches, no one seems to care. It'll be nice when the pond is paved for more parking and the Jamaicaway gets widened and straightened out -- it will be so much safer! That neighborhood is so dirty I don't think anyone will notice. I can't imaging why anyone would open a restaurant there in this economy. Just throwing good money after bad.
