Developer proposes Allston building with twelve three-bedroom units

The Boston Real Estate Collaborative says it will file plans with the BPDA for a 54-unit building at 44 North Beacon St. that will include a mix of condos and apartments.

In a recent letter of intent, the developer says 16 condos will front North Beacon Street in what would appear to be a row of townhouses, with the building rising in the back to house 38 apartments, on a 0.4-acre lot now occupied by a one-story private-ambulance garage.

In addition to the twelve three-bedroom units, the building would also have 16 two-bedroom units, some with dens, 16 one-bedroom units, some with dens and just two studios. Seven of the units will be marketed as affordable.

An underground garage would have room for 35 cars.

Was there no new construction in Allston or Brighton before this station opened? Especially near the B line and 57 bus?
