But is it inflatable?

Probably not that fun nor a very good idea given the safety risk. Guy is just trying to be too cool.

They guy is dressed and equipped for island hopping in the Gulf of Maine in winter.

Wouldn't get me in that water for a stunt.

When I see images like this I wonder what must be floating around in that water. It seems to me that whenever water goes above its container there is trouble to be had. It tends to start causing all sorts of problems. Not to mention the possibility of disembarking from the kayak into an open man hole cover or something

Having lived in hurricane country nearly all my life: sewage. Lots and lots of sewage.

At least up here, you don't get the rafts of floating fire ants. Back in Houston, a super-soaker loaded with dish soap was standard gear. Dogs routinely get sucked down into culverts and storm drains, or snapped up by alligators.

New England is like, full Nerf by comparison, but it's still a lousy idea to go wading through other people's septic tanks. Image search the godawful rashes some people got from Katrina floodwaters. Partly ants, but also, unbelievable nastiness constantly pumped out of the likes of Pascagoula. Those workers wear serious bunny-suits and get mad hazard pay for a reason.

Still, gotta give the kayaker grudging kudos here. We've all thought about it, and they gone and done it. Hats off.

Probably the biggest hazard in this scenario. Flood water is nasty - 1980s Charles River nasty.
