Indian place in JP shut for hot food kept too cool, cold food kept too warm and an unvented range

Jamaica Plain News reports why people who would normally go to Bukhara on Centre Street are having to trek to Roslindale or West Roxbury - or even further afield - to get their daily dosa Indian food.

Complete list of health issues that need to be corrected before it can open again.

Every time they have been inspected, there have been violations that have lead to follow-up inspections. Once, they didn't even pass the re-inspection entirely. They currently have their permit pulled. Yet somehow they have an "A" rating. How messed up does a place have to be to get a grade lower than an "A"?

At least there wasn't any storage of raw meat above confectionery, with consequent dripping of meat juices onto cream products

Aloo people making jokes about this need to look at yourselves in the mirror. Get a dosa reality. Food safety is not a joke.

I'm sure they'll fix it raita way. Lack of food safety can give you bad korma.

I miss Ghazal - thought the food was more flavorful, better spice.

What are some other good T-accessible Indian places?

Tikki Masala is not bad, although I admit I'm partial to Shanti (accessible via the 6,000 bus routes that run from Forest Hills down Washington).

India Quality next to Kenmore stop. Really good.

Several I'm partial to:
Punjab Palace, Allston - right on the 57 bus route; a short walk from the 66 or the B line of the Green Line.
Shan A Punjab, Brookline - right on the 66 (across from the TJ Maxx); a short walk from the B line.
Tanjore, Harvard Square (they've been there for years, but I'd never tried them before a couple of recent dinners that really impressed me.)

I will also add to the recommendation for India Quality in Kenmore Square - I think there's some connection between them and Punjab Palace, and both are really excellent.

I live 10 minutes from Bukhara, but travel 45 minutes to get to Shan-a-Punjab because its the best. I back this spot 100%

Indian food is Boston is too Westernized aka bland. Maharaja in Harvard Square has authentic flavors. It's the only Indian I'll eat outside of my home and those of family and friends.

We went to Maharaja once last year and weren't even able to order dinner. The waiter walked away as we started to order, and didn't come back. After spending several minutes waiting while he rearranged chairs at an empty table, we gave up and left. We won't be back.
